About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Design Officer, the Systems Design Engineer will be the technical expert responsible for pre-sales, design/build, sales support, and quality assurance. 

The ideal candidate will be at the forefront of shaping cutting-edge solutions that seamlessly integrate technology systems to meet and exceed our clients' needs. This multifaceted role encompasses critical aspects of the project lifecycle, including pre-sales, design and build, proposals, post sales, best practices development, sales support, and quality assurance. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, bringing technical expertise to projects from conceptualization through implementation. This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase creativity, problem-solving skills, and commitment to excellence in creating state-of-the-art integrated technology solutions.

Your Impact

Pre-Sales

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process, offering insights and recommendations to help shape customer proposals.
  • Create and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations to showcase the value of integrated technology solutions.

Design and Build

  • Develop comprehensive and innovative designs for integrated technology systems, considering both functionality and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, sales, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of technology systems.
  • Ensure designs are practical, scalable, and cost-effective, utilizing the latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Stay current of industry trends and emerging technologies to incorporate cutting-edge solutions into design concepts.

Proposals

  • Develop detailed proposals that clearly outline the scope, timeline, budget, and specifications of technology solutions. 
  • Ensure proposals are technically feasible and aligned with client objectives.

Post Sales

  • Provide ongoing support and expertise after the sale is completed to ensure systems are implemented effectively. 
  • Address any technical challenges that arise, ensuring a seamless transition and optimal system performance.

Best Practices

  • Establish and promote best practices for the design and implementation of integrated technology systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments to ensure adherence to industry standards and guidelines.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving the evolution of best practices within the organization.

Sales Support

  • Act as a technical advisor to the sales team, providing support in client meetings and presentations.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, proposals, and statements of work.
  • Collaborate with sales team to address client inquiries and concerns, ensuring a seamless transition from sales to implementation.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to validate the functionality, reliability, and performance of integrated technology systems.
  • Conduct thorough testing and evaluation of prototypes and final implementations to identify and address potential issues.
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish and maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Perform other duties as assigned based upon business need.

About You

  • 3+ years of professional experience in AV or Technology Integration systems design is required.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in the installation and integration of commercial automation systems and/or AV systems is required.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed is required.
  • L2 Police background check will be required. 
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in a relevant field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science,) or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Certifications in relevant automation technologies (e.g., CEDIA, Crestron, Control4) is preferred.
  • Experience with software (D-Tools, Visio, AutoCAD, Excel, MS Office Suite,) is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of automation technologies, including smart home devices, audio/video systems, lighting control, and security systems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
